MyCycle

I wanted to see MyCycle where I plan everything else. MyCycle is a private cycle tracker that predicts every phase from your own history and puts it in your calendar, so when you’re booking the pitch, the trip or the dinner, you can already see which phase it lands in and get an idea of how you might be feeling.

What it is

After logging for a few months, you’ll be able to get a good idea of what to expect. MyCycle learns what each day of your cycle tends to bring, so it can warn you that this Thursday might be tough. It uses your own history to make more accurate guesses.

For example, ovulation is worked out backwards from your own predicted period, using a luteal length of 14 days that you can update in Settings (if you know yours exactly). It is still an estimate, and it is not contraception.

Your recent symptoms act as a second opinion on the date: they can agree with it or flag it, but they never quietly move it.

You can log flow intensity, spotting and any symptoms that show during your period or throughout the month. The symptom list is yours to change.

Everything lives on your computer as files. Import an old CSV, export your data any time. For your calendar, connect Google with a client you set up once, or download an .ics file for anything else.

Inside the app
01
A range, not a guess
Your next period comes back as a likely window and a wider very-likely one. Look further ahead and the window widens, because each cycle's error compounds.
02
It grades its own homework
Every past prediction is checked against what happened: within a day, within two, early or late. You see the accuracy, not just the promise of it.
03
A rough day, seen coming
It learns what you usually log on each cycle day, so it can let you know that this coming Thursday might be a challenge
04
Not every symptom means something
Some of what you log reliably comes a set number of days before your period. Some of it is noise. The app sorts one from the other
05
Remove anomalies
Unusually long or short cycles can be left out of the averages by default, but you can also choose to include them
Before you buy

Who this is not for

I would rather you skip it than buy the wrong thing.

You want reminders

You can set a reminder that your period is coming, and it asks whether you've logged when you open it, and that's all. It does not constantly ping you.

You want it on your phone

It is stored locally on your computer, there is no sync between devices.

You want a one-click Google sync

Google Calendar needs a free Google client + new calendar that you set up yourself. It's a few minutes, once. The .ics export needs nothing.

You want contraception

The fertile window is an estimate from your own history. Our bodies are not always reliable. It is not contraception, and it is not medical advice.
